PRESENTATION

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The study of transformations, Lie’s symmetries and invariance properties of ordinary and partial differential equations, and associated conserved quantities, is a classical area of research, of great interest especially in relation with the description of qualitative properties of solutions, and  for the determination of analytic and numerical computation of interesting particular solutions. In the last decades the studies have been greatly enriched on one hand through the considerations of geometric mechanics, on the other hand by the formulation of both deterministic and stochastic variational principles. In particular these approaches constitute a natural framework for the study of  quantum mechanics and quantum field theory, in geometric settings (e.g. for gauge fields).
The inclusion of random terms in the deterministic systems mentioned above, especially  those studied in geometric mechanics, has received a considerable attention only in recent years. These developments concern the study of stochastic processes on differential geometric structures, often given in terms of stochastic differential resp. stochastic partial differential equations. Some results corresponding to those in the deterministic case have been obtained but much remain to be done, especially concerning the derivations of conserved quantities.
The purpose of the conference is to let researchers of different areas, particularly mathematical physics, probability, analysis and numerical analysis interact  precisely in order  to make progress in reducing the gap between results in deterministic and stochastic frameworks.

APPLICATION

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

REGISTRATION FEE: 100 euro.

The fee covers the local expenses: hotel accommodation, conference location, lunches and coffee breaks. Travel expenses and dinners are at own expense.

Due to a consistent increase of participants in our conference, we decided it would be more convenient to extend it until the morning of Friday 29 March.

We remind you, though, that we can pay the local expenses only for four nights per participant.

If some of you wishes to stay for the fifth night at his/her own expense, you would be indeed more than welcome.

HOW TO REGISTER:  We warmly encourage all the participants to book by themselves the Hotel Italia ( info@hotelitaliaverona.it see location below) as soon as possible, and in any case not later than 20 February (otherwise the pre-booking we made will be lost!).

While booking, please specify to the Hotel Italia Staff that you will be taking part to the Mathematical Conference.

Furthermore we kindly ask you to communicate also to Stefania stefania.ugolini@unimi.it.

or Elisa elisa.mastrogiacomo@uninsubria.it the day and the time of your arrival and departure.

Looking forward to welcome you in Verona,

we send each and everyone our best wishes,

POSTER SESSION: Participants who intend to present a poster about their research interest, should send a title and an abstract (min 2000 characters, max 3000 characters) to elisa.mastrogiacomo@uninsuibria.it and stefania.ugolini@unimi.it.

Registration deadline: 20 February 2019.

With over two thousand years of history, Verona is one of the most renowed heritage cities in northern Italy. Roman ruins, medieval vestiges, venetian and austrian traces can be found all across the city, as well as elegant cafés and ancient osterie, craftsman shops and high couture shops that enliven city life all year long.

For its unique and breathtaking range of works of art and monuments from antiquity, the medieval and Renaissance periods, Verona was recognized in 2000 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
